Sherry Williams
Sherry (Russell) Williams of Bay City, Texas grew up on a 200 acre farm in Vermont, where her brother still has horses, does haying, and sells farm equipment.
Another brother owns a large organic dairy farm, along the banks of Lake Champlain in Vermont.
Sherry earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture & Environmental Science from the University of Vermont. Past credits include having headed up a coalition of farm groups and serving as a farm advocate in the Vermont Legislature for six years. After that, she moved on to a position of New England Field Editor for a weekly farm journal.
Writing and photography have always been tied in with her career. She served as a self-employed wedding photographer for over 20 years.
Sherry is the only one of her siblings to leave Vermont – having moved here with her husband Gary when he was offered a position at STP nuclear operating plant. She makes amends with her family by making frequent trips back home, and will be there for “sugaring season” in mid-March.
